About the Artist:
Sharlene Wang is a self-taught artist who is versatile with the mediums she uses to create art. She has been drawing & painting with watercolours, acrylics for the past 18 years and has been honing her skills since. She finds great passion & healing in art. Sharlene loves sharing her love for art with others so that they too will understand the power of art. Her mission is to see how art brings people together.

Her specialities are pet portraits and her style is a mix of abstract-realistic art. Her focus for her art is mostly on what inspires her throughout her everyday journey as an artist & person. She believes in endless learning thus, experiments a variety of medias and takes a diverse approach to her art to keep her creativity on her toes. 

Sharlene now does corporate events, commissions & workshops for kids & adults alike.

About the Workshop:
This class is suitable for beginners who wish to learn how to paint animals. No prior experience needed. The ability to draw or paint is not required.

In this workshop, participants will learn:
1. How to do simple sketching & image transfer
2. Learn about the tools they need for animal painting - the right paper, suitable paints and brushes to use
3. The basic watercolour techniques every beginner in watercolour needs to know - wet on wet, dry on wet, dry on dry, graduated wash, variegated wash and more
4. Familiarise themselves with their colour palette & learn how to derive the colours they seek and need
6. How to prep their palette well before they start
7. Explore the many different styles, options and approach to animal painting - loose animal painting vs detailed animal painting
8. A unique watercolour layering & colour blending technique that will make your painting 'pop'
9. Brush strokes needed to form the distinct texture of an animal (fur, feather, scales) 
10. Tricks and tips that will make your animal painting experience more fun & creative
11. Sharpen your artistic eye and eye for details
12. Have lots of fun painting your favourite animals while unleashing your creativity

What is included in this workshop:
All participants will receive high quality products consist of a watercolour pad, brush, watercolour paint set, gelly roll pen and handouts to bring home after workshop.

Light refreshments with free flow cold drinks will also be provided.
