About the Workshop:
The "Line and wash” is a painting process that involves the use of lines and apply the colors (usually watercolor) on top of it. This combination of these 2 allows the artist to take advantage of the strengths of both mediums. The lines are used to define edges and details while the watercolor washes develop the color and value range. As long as your underlining sketch can reasonably represent the form, the painting itself does not demand high level of watercolor skill and hence it lower the entry barrier for most beginners to taste the first success of a color sketch. The class is designed to jump start new learners to do simple and small painting.

The initial portion of the class will focus on the line works, use of different type of lines with the emphasis on the simplification and observation. The class will dedicate most of the time on basic technique of watercolor and its associated tool. The class is not designed for full coverage of watercolor technique but practical and essential watercolor skill, such as wet on wet, colors blending, use of colors, handling of light and shadow in a free flow and expressive manner.
