May 2021 is the month of collaboration between Overjoyed and Urban Sketchers SG (IG: We will be conducting various weekly workshops on urban sketching related topics! This is the perfect time for you to acquire knowledge, develop skills and techniques as well as to gain useful tips on urban sketching.

About the Artist:
Alice has been sketching with Urban Sketchers Singapore since 2013 and has exhibited in group shows such as We Draw Amaravati Together Exhibition (2018). She works full time in non-art related field. In her free time, she collects memories of landscapes and architecture though her sketches and shares her art journey on YouTube (alicelimwanders). About the Workshop:
Ink and wash is a popular technique used in urban sketching. In this workshop you will learn to express your observations of an urban location using simple drawing techniques and watercolour washes using limited colours.

What you will learn in this workshop?
- Select the right materials for ink and wash.
- Translate what you see into lines and shapes.
- Learn how to mix a rainbow with a limited palette (7 colours!).
- Express the “feel” of the place through watercolour washes.

You will learn these techniques through simple classroom exercises and put them into practice in the final piece.

What is included in this Workshop:
All participants will receive high quality products consist of a pen, watercolour paper, a brush and watercolour paints to bring home after workshop.
