About the Artist:
Leah Chong is a lettering artist, muralist and designer based in Singapore. She is passionate about all things creative, and loves working with people from companies both big and small. Known for her versatility in lettering styles and distinctive calligraphy script, she creates things that delight eyes, connect emotions and serve purpose. As an educator in her field, she has also taught countless workshops for events, festivals, corporate team-building and the public, sharing her expertise. Besides business as usual, she can be found capturing visuals on her Canon EOS M5 or possibly, still on the hunt to finding the best hazelnut latte in the world.

About the Workshop:
In this workshop, you’ll learn the principle skills in Brush Calligraphy, the do’s and don’ts, be able to critically study each individual letterform with fresh eyes and have hands-on practice in class. Join us in tapping into your artistic and creative self for a relaxing and fun-filled 3.5 hours with like-minded individuals. Plus, for all the sweet-toothed people out there, after learning this creative art form that is so greatly grounded in history, we’ll be using edible food ink markers to create custom calligraphy art on icing cookies. You’ll get to bring these sweet treats that you’ve hand-inked back home for you and your loved ones!

Workshop Outline (3.5 Hours):
- Introduction to Calligraphy ?- Relevant tools and materials?- Body Posture?- How to hold your brush pen?- Paper and pen placement?- Principle skills of brush calligraphy
- Basic strokes and demonstration of common mistakes?- Lowercase letterforms rundown in family groups?- Transfer your artistic vision and create your own custom calligraphy cookies with edible food ink!

What is included in this workshop:
All participants will receive structured exercise & practice sheets, writing pad, brush pens and your very own custom-made icing cookies to bring home after workshop.
